A programme of archaeological monitoring was carried out in association with the upgrade and extension of a composting facility at Killowen, Portlaw, Co. Waterford. A number of burnt mounds and a hearth are located within the vicinity of the development area (WA004-020 and 21) and by local knowledge (WA004-025–27) c. 300–600m north-west. However, no archaeological features or deposits were noted during the course of monitoring.
