An archaeological evaluation was carried out prior to the proposed construction of a single wind turbine on lands 365m north-east of 14 Crilly’s Hill Road, Castlederg.
The evaluation consisted of the excavation of two test trenches across the area of the proposed turbine base. The trenches were laid out in an ‘X’ formation and were excavated using a back-acting machine fitted with a toothless bucket.
No archaeological deposits were identified during the evaluation of the development area.
