An archaeological evaluation in the form of targeted test trenching was carried out in advance of development for a proposed poultry shed at lands at 91 Sluggan Road, Pomeroy, Co. Tyrone. TYR037-022 is located 70m to the north-east of the proposed development. Three 150m long test trenches set 10m apart were excavated within the footprint of a proposed poultry shed, site access and landscaping works. Excavation of the test trenches revealed topsoil to be on average between 0.1–0.25m deep directly overlying natural glacial till subsoil. No archaeological features or deposits were identified within the test trenches.
