Test trenching was carried out in advance of a housing development. An adjacent field is recorded as being the location of a rath (TYR 054:012).
The trench closest to the rath uncovered a section of a large curving ditch. Believed to be part of the ditch of the rath, this feature was surveyed and the trench covered with geotextile and backfilled.
The remainder of the trenches did not uncover any archaeological material.
