Testing was carried out in advance of groundworks at Kilvemnon, South Tipperary. The work is part of the South Tipperary Water Conservation Scheme, Stage 3: Network Rehabilitation, Fethard RWSS-Contract No.3.
Testing was carried out in the vicinity of Kilvemnon church and graveyard (TS063-063001-5) in advance of service installation. The test trench measured 35m in length by 1m deep and ran along the western verge of the roadway opposite the entrance to the graveyard.
Natural stratigraphy was exposed below the topsoil. No finds or features of archaeological significance were noted.
