Kilfeacle Community Tennis Club undertook development of an additional tennis court within the existing Tennis Club grounds. The proposed development entailed ancillary works of waste water treatment and floodlights (which take into cognisance adjacent N74). Monitoring of ground works was required as there was potential for archaeological impacts, in particular in relation to the archaeological zone of Kilfeacle village. The monitoring took place on 5 February 2013. Excavation work associated with the development achieved depths of 0.4m for foundation of the tennis court and up to 0.8m for ducting and foundations associated with floodlights. The location of the works previously formed car parking and exposed stratigraphy consisted of imported building debris and gravel surface. No archaeology was encountered.
