A program of testing was carried out within the undisturbed area of the permitted borrow area for Lisheen Mine at Carrick Hill, Barnalisheen, Templetouhy, Co. Tipperary.
Over the course of four days a total of 30 test trenches were excavated which identified a number of linear features relating to relict field boundaries or drainage ditches. Nothing of archaeological significance was identified at this time.
