Pre-development testing was carried out at the site of a proposed veterinary clinic located at Lourdes Road, Roscrea. The proposed development area is located within the zone of archaeological potential for Roscrea Town (TN012-010).
A total of three trenches were mechanically investigated across the test area which covers c. 0.13ha on 2 April 2013. No features of archaeological significance were identified in any of the trenches. A large amount of material appeared to have been imported to the site prior to the construction of the existing bungalow.
No adverse impact on the archaeological resource was anticipated as a result of the proposed development.
