A re-assessment field walking survey was carried out in Cloonshannagh Bog in August and September 2013 on behalf of Bord na Móna. The bog is located 3km north-west of Termonbarry and 2.5km west of Lough Forbes, is part of the BnM Mountdillon Group and has a total area of 331ha.

Eighty-eight sites were recorded in Cloonsahnnagh Bog during the primary survey carried out by ADS in 2008 under licence number 08E0645? and they were located mainly in the Cloonshannagh and Newtown townlands area. The sites were mainly located across a narrow tract of bogland from the area of Caul townland towards Corraun townland.

The 2013 re-assessment survey identified eighty-nine sites. Of these, sixty were platform sightings, eighteen sightings were of archaeological wood and eleven were trackway sightings, all of varying lengths and widths.
