Unauthorised work carried out by a Rural Social Scheme (RSS) removed between 170 and 200 unmarked headstones in Carn graveyard. Monitoring took place during reinstatement of the site. A section of the boundary wall was also repaired at this time. The RSS scheme had already uncovered clay pipe material with an overall date of 1850-1910 and a carved sandstone trial piece, but nothing of archaeological significance was found during the reinstatement works.
