Monitoring took place of works carried out to reinstate and restore a section of the original pathway which extended along the eastern side of the man-made lake forming part of the Emo Court Estate. This section of the pathway route had become overgrown and as a result inacessible. It was proposed to clear and extend the overgrown vegetation in order to reinstate the complete circular pedestrian loop walk. Some tree clearance and removal of overgrown vegetation was carried out followed by grading the pathway and laying hardcore and finish of a hard fine crushed yellow stone to form a smooth walking surface. A 19th-century decayed small pedestrian bridge was rebuilt with a new wooden structure built from estate timber, and built on the in situ original stone plinths for support. The Diana statue located on the opposite side of the lake was cleared of vegetation within its vicinity reinstating its intended sight line vista back to Emo House. A small sluice gate situated on the lake edge was repaired and repointed with Irish limestone.

No major excavation was required for the reinstatment of the pathway section, all works improved and enhanced the circular lake walk at Emo Court.
