A second phase of Stage (i) Test Excavation Services and Stage (ii) Pre-Excavation Services was carried out on behalf of Leitrim County Council. These works were undertaken in the townlands of Cullentragh and Sradine.
The works were undertaken as part of the Archaeological Services Contract prior to the commencement of construction works associated with the N16 Cornacloy to Sradrine Realignment in northern Co. Leitrim.
A previous phase of Stage (i) Test Excavation Services and Stage (ii) Pre-Excavation Services was undertaken along the route of the proposed realignment by Ross McLeod of Rubicon Heritage Services between 10 and 17 September 2012 under excavation licence number 11E417?.
The second phase of Stage (i) Test Excavation and Survey Services was carried out between 18 and 22 November 2013. A total of 52 test trenches were excavated across 15 fields, comprising a total of 1749 linear metres of trenching.
No previously unrecorded archaeological features, finds or deposits were uncovered during the course of this programme of work
