Ballynaslee 2 was identified during testing (12E0342, by James Eogan) of the proposed N77 Ballynaslee Road Realignment Scheme. The site comprised a single pit (1.84m x 1m x 0.2m) filled with burnt mound material. Environmental samples produced hazel, alder and pomaideae charcoal. A sample of charcoal (alder) returned a date of 2030-1780 BC (SUERC-49223, 3574± 30 BP), placing it in an Early Bronze Age context.
