Monitoring was carried out in association with the insertion of a gravity-fed waste water pipe, in the townlands of Kilcullenbridge and Castlemartin, Co. Kildare. The scheme falls under a Part VIII development under the Planning Act 2000. Monitoring follows on from recommendations made in a desktop assessment carried out by Courtney Deery Heritage Consultancy Ltd in 2013.

The wayleave for the scheme crossed a greenfield area and was located on the lower slopes of elevated ground. The ground was disturbed in a number of places, possibly as a result of previous works in the area involving the development of drainage. In the Castlemartin section running alongside the Pinkeen stream it was also heavily disturbed, with evidence for modern dumping located to a depth of 0.1-0.3m beneath the current ground level. No archaeological features or deposits were located during the topsoil stripping of the wayleave.
