A programme of monitoring was carried out during July 2013 as part of the construction of Ballygoran to Collinstown Watermain Scheme. The pipeline, for the most part, was confined to the existing road network; however, two areas of greenfield within the townlands of Ballygoran and Donaghmore were crossed by the wayleave. Area 1, located immediately north of the M4 in Ballygoran, consisted of rough pasture. Approximately 7500m2 was stripped of topsoil within the wayleave but no features of archaeological significance were identified. Area 2 was located to the south of the Grand Canal in Donaghmore townland and comprised a field of pasture. Donaghmore Church and Graveyard (KD006-005) were located c. 100m to the east. Approximately 9100m2 was stripped of topsoil within the wayleave but no features of archaeological significance were identified.
