Pre-development testing was undertaken at a proposed development site in Killahane, Firies, Co. Kerry in August 2013 on behalf of Firies Rural Development Association. The developers had applied for planning permission to construct a Community Enterprise Centre with associated site works. Further Information was requested part of which involved the submission of pre-development testing due to the scale of the development.
There were no recorded monuments on or within close proximity to the site of the proposed development. Four test trenches were excavated across the site including the driveway, parking, services and over the platform of the proposed structure. No potential archaeological features or artefacts were recorded.
