Pre-development testing was undertaken at Dromtacker, Tralee, Co. Kerry with regard to a planning application to construct a new GAA sports field at the Institute of Technology Tralee (ITT) campus. A number of previous invasive and non-invasive archaeological assessments and excavations were undertaken with regard to the overall ITT campus since its construction in 1998.
Eighteen 1m wide test trenches (T1-T18) were opened across the site at 10m intervals. Apart from a small number of modern drains recorded in T1-T8 and T17 no archaeological features or artefacts were noted.
