Pre-development testing was undertaken at Coolcorcoran, near Killarney. Ten cuttings (T1-T10) were opened across the site. The trenches were 1m wide and had a combined length of 624m.

Archaeological features was recorded at the eastern terminal of trench T7 and which was subsequently slightly expanded. These included five small areas of fire-reddened ground with charcoal splodges within its matrix. Disposed around the area were a number of other features including a possible pit that disappeared under the north-eastern limits of the baulk. A few possible post and stake-holes and a linear feature were also recorded. An additional spur cutting, T7a was opened to the north to determine the heightened archaeological potential of the immediate area. This spur did not connect directly to the area of archaeology due to the presence of a paddock fence. No artefacts were recorded or recovered.

No other archaeological features or artefacts were recorded.
