Testing took place prior to the construction of a private access track associated with the N22/N69 Tralee Bypass. There were no known archaeological features present within footprint but the development is close to KE029-040--- and KE029-041---, recorded as enclosures. A first phase of testing was carried out in March 2013. No archaeological remains were identified during these works. While the location of the track was verbally agreed with the landowner prior to the first phase of testing, it was decided after further consultation that the track should be relocated further north. A new series of test trenches was required to investigate the revised access track. Two additional test trenches totaling 165 sq m were mechanically opened within the footprint of the proposed development. No archaeological remains were encountered.
