Excavations were undertaken at Ballygarran, Spa, Tralee, Co. Kerry with regard to a planning application to construct a cricket pitch. The 1.92ha site is partially within the zone of notification of ringfort KE028-087. The site slopes directly to the northern shore of Tralee Bay, is waterlogged and in a general very poor condition. A series of thirteen test trenches at 10m intervals and totalling 1,367m in length, were excavated across the site. No archaeological features or artefacts were recorded.
