Archaeological monitoring of eighty engineering test pits associated with a wind farm development were undertaken in March 2013. The test pits generally measured 3m x 1m and were excavated throughout the area of the proposed development. The stratigraphy encountered indicated peat directly below sod in some areas while natural sub-soils and gravel were encountered in other areas. No finds or features or archaeological significance were uncovered in the course of monitoring.
