Ten pre-development trenches were excavated in the grounds of the former Oyster Manor Hotel in Clarinbridge on 22 July, 2013. The disused hotel building includes fabric from an early nineteenth-century monastery, constructed between 1819 and 1823 for the Patrician Brothers. The building was renovated and enlarged in 1844 to accommodate the Sisters of Charity and a small enclosed graveyard associated with the Sisters of Charity is located on the site. The trial excavations did not reveal any features or finds of archaeological interest.
