Testing was undertaken in respect of permission sought for a dwelling house, garage, septic tank/percolation area with treatment plan and all associated groundworks. This development site is partially located within the constraint area of a poorly preserved ringfort (GA105-176) and possible Children’s Burial Ground (GA105-176(001)). The ringfort is represented by a curving field boundary of mature trees and stone walling. The location of the proposed house is 20m from this boundary. Monitoring of topsoil stripping of all areas of ground disturbance was undertaken. The area was cleaned by hand and no archaeological features, material or deposits were discovered.
