Monitoring was carried out of groundworks associated with the development of the National Sports Campus Community Pitches, which are located at Deanestown and Sheephill, Co. Dublin. Monitoring was carried out as a condition of planning as attached to the Planning Approval.
Monitoring of topsoil stripping was undertaken over five days in April 2013. A single field boundary ditch was identified towards the west of the site. This was recorded as a post-medieval boundary during the course of excavations to the south earlier this year (Coughlan, licence ref.: 13E020).
No further archaeological features, deposits or artefacts were identified during these works.
