Monitoring was carried out for ground works associated with the redevelopment of 13-16 Redmond’s Hill, Dublin 2 in response to planning conditions attached to the development by Dublin City Council (Planning Ref.: 2561/12).

The development area consisted of a relatively small vacant plot located on the western side of Redmond’s Hill. This street links Aungier Street to the north and Wexford Street to the south. The site was bounded to the west by a modern office development. The northern and southern boundaries were formed by existing structures. Redmond’s Hill was laid out by 1673, although in Rocque’s map of 1756 a portion of the plot is shown as vacant. The site was located within the zone of archaeological potential for Dublin City (DU018-020).

All ground disturbances were subject to continual monitoring. No features of archaeological significance were identified.
