This terrace of houses, formerly known as Merrion Parade, is located within the constraint area for a church and graveyard listed on the RMP (DU023-053(001 and 002)). The excavation of service trenches and foundations in the areas to the front and rear of this terrace was monitored. The wall along the southern boundary of the terrace, which probably dates from the 19th century, was demolished and foundations were excavated for a new wall that is to be built in its place.
The excavated ground comprised post-medieval fill and garden soil overlying sand and subsoil. Several sherds of 18th- and 19th-century pottery were recovered from garden soil. The remains of a metalled surface were partially exposed on the north-eastern end of the site. This surface lay on top of subsoil and was probably part of a 19th-century lane leading from the road to No. 221.
