An archaeological evaluation was carried out prior to the proposed construction of a single wind turbine on lands 130m north of 55 Skeagh Road, Dromara, Co Down.
The proposed development site is adjacent to DOW 028:069, identified as an oval enclosure on the SMR.
Two test trenches were excavated across the proposed turbine base to assess the location for potential archaeological remains. The trenches were arranged in an “X” formation and were excavated using a mechanical digger fitted with a toothless bucket.
No archaeological deposits were identified during the course of the evaluation.
