An archaeological evaluation was carried out prior to the proposed construction of a new Irish Whiskey Distillery and visitors’ centre within the grounds of Rubane House, 62 Gransha Road, Kircubbin. The proposed development site is located within the grounds of the historic demesne of Rubane, which is recorded in the NI Historic Gardens Register as D-054.

A total of 9 test trenches were excavated for the purposes of the evaluation. No archaeological deposits were identified during the evaluation.
