An archaeological evaluation was carried out prior to the proposed construction of a single wind turbine at lands 220m north-west of 93 Newtownards Road, Greyabbey. Five test trenches were excavated across the proposed development area. Trenches 1-3 were designed to test the proposed access road and Trenches 4 and 5 were arranged in an “X” formation to test the proposed turbine location (see plate).
No archaeological deposits were identified during the evaluation of the development area.
