An archaeological evaluation was carried out prior to the proposed construction of a wind turbine and access road to the south of 73 Circular Road, Banbridge, Co Down. The proposed development site is immediately adjacent to DOW 034:044, which is identified on the SMR as an enclosure. The site has been levelled and there is no visible trace of the monument.
Two test trenches were excavated along the route of the proposed access road and a further two test trenches were excavated in a \'X\' pattern at the location of the proposed wind turbine base. The trenches were excavated using a back-actor fitted with a toothless bucket.
Nothing of archaeological significance was uncovered during the course of the evaluation.
