An archaeological evaluation was carried out prior to the construction of a new mine access drift tunnel and associated works including a portal structure, new internal access road and land improvements at Kilroot Salt Mine, Co. Antrim.

Monitoring of topsoil removal was conducted for the area of the proposed development. This identified no evidence of any archaeological features/deposits within the development area.
