The monitoring of geotechnical investigation (GI) pits was carried out in advance of a new interchange at York Street, Belfast.
The remains of walls, yards and floors were uncovered in a number of the G.I. pits. Given the small size it is not possible to state exactly which buildings these features related to, but they are undoubtedly part of the 19th-century industrial buildings and warehouses which occupied this part of Belfast.
