This proposed development is part of a much larger project consisting of housing, areas of green and recreation space and a new feeder road in north Lisburn. The proposed development related to the construction of residential housing and related infrastructure. Monitoring of groundworks took place intermittently during January and February 2013.
A number of archaeological features were uncovered within the east extent of the development. These consisted of two small pits and a small post-hole. No dating evidence was recovered from these features although, given that these features were uncovered in close proximity to each other, it was surmised that they were presumably contemporary.
The remainder of the development proved archaeologically sterile with areas close to existing development exhibiting signs of previous disturbance.
