Test trenching ahead of the construction of a new entrance and shed at Abbeyside National School, Dungarvan, found no building remains or surfaces associated with the nearby tower-house and more distant abbey. Most of the features were post-medieval garden remains beside Friars Walk, but a ditch 30m from the road may be from an earlier land boundary.
