An archaeological evaluation was undertaken at the site of a proposed wind turbine on Cappagh Mountain on 27 April 2012 as requested by NIEA: HMU. A cist burial (TYR045-024) had been discovered in a cairn in this location in the 19th century. A total of seven test trenches were excavated within the area of the proposed development. The site was characterised by peat up to 0.9m overlying subsoil. Nothing of archaeological significance was found.
