Monitoring took place in relation to a proposed ring road for Sligo General Hospital, Co. Sligo. The work to date was undertaken to the north of the hospital on three dates during 12–22 March 2012 and a final day on the 9 May 2012. These works were undertaken on behalf of Wills Bros Ltd—Civil Engineering Contractors.

Topsoil was stripped across five areas (A-E) of the development under supervision. Nine additional test trenches were also monitored as part of the works to the south of Area E to the west of the hospital. Natural subsoil was exposed, however no archaeological deposits or features were identified. Further monitoring was carried out in this area to the south of Area 8 on 9 May 2012 but no archaeologically significant features were identified.
