Testing took place of a small area prior to replacement of a percolation area in the landscaped garden of a ?1970s bungalow in Sea Park, Ballincar. The site is close to SL014-007001, an enclosure, SL014-007002, a field system, and SL014-007003, cultivation ridges. It is not clear from the various sources consulted whether these cultivation ridges ever extended into this small property. They are of unnknown date and unknown extent as the field was under long grass at the time of testing.
The 14.6m by 10.6m area for the raised bed percolation area was tested by two trenches, 1.4-1.5m wide and 15m and 17m long, on the long axis of the percolation area spaced at one-third of its width. A third trench was on the lines of the outflow pipes from the existing septic tank to the existing percolation area. The sod, only 50mm thick, indicates that this lawn had been laid relativly recently, probably at the time of building the house which was about thirty years ago. Nothing of archaeological significance was noted.
