Monitoring was carried out as part of the Roscommon Towns and Villages Sewerage Scheme Project (DBO Contract No. 9). There were a number of locations throughout the county where new or upgraded treatment works were required. No features of archaeological significance were identified at any of the sites during the course of works.

Construction works were also undertaken at Arigna, Ballinlough, Ballyleague and Strokestown, however these areas did not require monitoring due to the fact that they all occupied made ground. No excavation was undertaken at Hodson Bay and Lisacul.
