Excavation took place on 18 October 2012 of two posts identified during monitoring of works associated with the construction of a wind farm at Mountlucas Bog, Co. Offaly. A third post was uncovered during the excavation, together forming a post row measuring 1m north-south and probably representing the remnants of a trackway. Two of the posts were of oak but the third was much shorter and of birch, perhaps having been inserted from a higher level and representing a later trackway. This peg had long, shallow, dished facets, which may have been made with a bronze tool. The remnants of several other trackways were found at Site RD-14.1, 40m to the west and, like these, this trackway seemed to be heading for a spur of dry land to the north.
