Monitoring works for the laying of a new 125mm watermain and 180mm rising main took place in the vicinity of church site and round tower (ME025-015001 and 015002) at Donaghamore and in the townlands of Blackcastle Demesne and Windtown to the east of Navan, Co. Meath. The works were all carried out along verges beside the N51 roadway. The monitoring programme recorded areas of modern disturbance associated with old services overlying a natural stratigraphy of mid brown clay with occasional boulders. No finds or features of archaeological significance were recorded throughout the course of the groundworks.
