A programme of monitoring was carried out as part of the re-development of the Dundalk Grammar School. Monitoring of ground disturbance was undertaken intermittently over a number of days between December 2011 and August 2012. The removal of overburden and in some places, topsoil, revealed that the development area has been subject to a large amount of disturbance due to the past construction of school facilities such as all-weather playing pitches and the insertion of services and drains. Nothing of archaeological significance was identified during the course of monitoring.
