This site was excavated during the 2012 Bord na Móna Mitigation season. Four cuttings were excavated along the line of a substantial gravel road initially recorded by ADS ltd in 2007 during the course of the 2007 Peatland Survey. The site was dated to AD452-624 and was composed of gravel, stone and brushwood and was visible at forty-three sightings in the drain face, 0.33-1.07m below the field surface, across the southern extent of Edera Bog. The togher was orientated east-north-east/west-south-west across the width of the south-east corner of Edera Proper. The composition of the togher varied somewhat along its length but it was generally composed of densely packed stone, marl and gravel. It varied in width, in the drain faces, from 0.6 to 9.1m. At some sightings brushwood was recorded below the gravel and stones, suggesting that it may have been laid down as a foundation.
