Rubicon Heritage Services Ltd was contracted by Tile Films to undertake an archaeological assessment (including geophysical survey and test trenching) as part of a documentary for TV3. Six test trenches, totalling 182.5m, were excavated in two areas of the farm which were the traditional burial places of casualties from the civil war. Although no human remains were identified a well preserved post-medieval lime kiln was identified in both the geophysical survey and test trenching.
