Site 4-10 Cotterellsrath was discovered during monitoring of topsoil stripping for the Bord Gáis Networks Gas to Great Island scheme (Excavations 2012, No. 334, 12E0356). The excavation of a potential burnt stone spread proven that the deposit was non-archaeological and the remnants of burning vegetation (probably a former hedge line).
