Testing and monitoring was requested as a condition of planning permission granted for a wind farm in the above townlands. Limited monitoring of peat removal took place in 2011 (Excavations 2011, No. 327). Testing of turbine bases and associated hardstands took place in March 2012 following clear felling of forestry. Subsequent monitoring of ground works associated with the construction stage of the wind farm development was also undertaken in 2012. Monitoring of peat removal at turbine bases (1-3, 6, 7, 8 and 9), hardstand areas and spur roads, the eastern access to the Lyracrompane road, the northern portion of the link access to Maghanknockane and cable trenching was carried out between March and September 2012. No archaeological finds, features or deposits were uncovered during either the testing or monitoring.
