Ministerial Consent was sought for extensive stabilization works at Kyrie Eleison abbey following a structural engineering and conservation assessment. The works involved the extensive flaunching of exposed wall core and grouting of wall joints throughout the extant ruin including the remains of the very unstable church tower; the erection of security fencing around the structure and the erection of safety signage. All ground works were monitored and no archaeological features or strata were noted. All conservation works were supervised by archaeological, structural engineering and conservation specialists. The works were completed in late October 2012.
