Test trenching was undertaken between 12 and 15 March 2012, as part of a wider impact assessment ahead of development of an Agri-tourism Activity centre. This development, over 18ha of pasture and forestry, is surrounded by standing archaeological remains, including a ringfort (KE043-209), an early ecclesiastical site (KE043-140) and three holy wells (KE043-054; KE043-141; KE043-208).

A total of five test trenches were used to assess the footprint of each element in the development. The ground had been extensively ploughed and drained. Modern ceramics and glass were recovered but nothing of archaeological significance was identified.
