2012:299 - ABBEYLANDS: Killagh Priory, Kerry

This Ministerial Consent was granted in 2010 but the works, following on conservation and structural engineering reports of this National Monument in Local Authority Ownership, did not take place until 2012. The works involved the stabilizing of exposed wall core at a number of points through flaunching with lime mortar, the stabilizing and propping of the extant remains of a short spiral stairway and the grouting of wall joints at a number of points. No ground works were required and all conservation repairs were supervised by archaeological, structural engineering and conservation specialists. The works were completed in late October 2012.
