Test excavations were carried on the site of a proposed new percolation area for an existing dwelling house at Fahy, County Galway in August 2012. The development site comprises a green field located immediately south-east of and lying partly within the area of constraint for GA108-102 (church and graveyard). Two test trenches (L 10m, Wth 1.5m) were opened on the footprint of the proposed percolation area. Grey/brown sandy silt topsoil (depth 0.5m) overlay yellow/brown sandy silt subsoil. A few modern potsherds were retrieved from the topsoil. No archaeological material was uncovered.
