A programme of monitoring was carried out over 2012 for improvements and refurbishments to the large estate/farm, Airfield House, on the south side of Kilmacud Road, Dundrum, Dublin 14 (Drummartin townland), c. 500m from Dundrum village and the site of Dundrum Castle. A desktop study (Faith Bailey, May 2010) identified two previously unrecorded areas of possible archaeological potential in the form of small sub-circular enclosures on OS maps and aerial photographs. The development avoiding impacting these two areas and the monitoring programme found nothing of interest, identifying only 19th-century and later agricultural features and artefacts
